Matcha green tea is a grounded powder green tea , it also has different qualities, there are many ways to distingush the quality, one of them is by looking at the color of the tea, the greener color the better. This one is a superfine quality, we have a regular matcha green tea, you can buy these two different qualities to taste it to find out the difference. In Japan, matcha green tea is ceremoney tea, drink with some sweets. If you want a stronger tea, this will be a very good one, especially those who have diabetes. Most people rarely have a chance to see Matcha (Tencha) in its original state since it is always ground when sold.
However, as the flavor and color quickly deteriorate after being ground, manufacturers preserve this type of tea in the non-ground tencha form.
Maccha is powdered tea and unlike the Gyokuro and Sencha teas the drinker actually consumes 100 % of the beneficial nutrients by drinking the ground tea leaves. Matcha is rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals and catechin antioxidants. It is a highly desirable health drink and many people drink this kind of green tea daily.
Brew Instruction:
Brewing tool: cups, bottles, tea wears, tea bags
Water temperature: 170° F-180 F
Amount of tea: 1/5 tea spoon
Amount of water: 2-3 oz.
Normally we use a matcha cray bowl and matcha whisk to mix the matcha powder, so that way the matcha powder able to mix into the water well. The pictures of the matcha bowl and matcha whisk ,please see blow.
Drinking tips:
- Do not steep green too long. Green tea is non-fermented and has a lot of tea polyphenols, alkaloids and other nutrients, if you drink it too strong the nutrients have a too strong reaction it will irritate the stomach or dilute the stomach acid causing digestion problems or stomach aches. For more experienced green tea drinkers a strong brew will be fine.
- If brew green tea with hot water, drink the tea while still hot. We suggest drinking all the green tea you brewed within 60-90minutes. If the green tea sits too long it will oxidize lose the nutrients. If you want drink cold tea, use cold water to brew. It will take about 20minutes to 90minutes to steep. Once the tea turns green and brown color, it is ready to drink.
- We suggest drinking the green tea 30minutes-60minutes after meal. Drinking too soon after the meal, the tea will reactor with the nutrients of the food, especially the iron and protein. So if you have anemia, do not drink green tea, black tea, oolong tea, and pu-erh tea.
